With the end of the Texas Longhorns 2024 college football season, several players are deciding their fate between returning Austin, transferring or declaring for the NFL draft.

Quarterback Quinn Ewers and offensive tackle Kelvin Banks have already announced their intention to turn pro and join the NFL next season.

Junior running back Jaydon Blue, who rushed for 730 yards and eight touchdowns on 134 carries and collected 42 receptions for 368 yards and six receiving touchdowns this season, also declared for the 2025 NFL Draft on Sunday.

The 21-year-old from Houston, Texas, is a former four-star recruit, ranking as the No. 101 player in the 2022 class, according to 247Sports. He committed to the Longhorns over several blue-chip programs, including Alabama, Georgia, Florida, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, USC and more.

In a prepared statement, Blue said, "As I take the next step in my journey, I'm excited to announce that I will be declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. I'm ready to take my game to the next level and chase my dreams. Hook 'em!"

Although he only rushed for 16 yards on four carries against Ohio State in the College Football Playoff semifinal, he caught five passes for 59 yards and two touchdowns.

In the CFP first round against the Clemson Tigers, Blue rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns, adding 31 receiving yards on two catches.

One early projection views Blue as a top-100 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
