For the pleasure of winning the Big Ten Championship , the Oregon Ducks officially got the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoffs rankings, and with it, a first round bye.

With the bracket officially released, we now know Oregon's proposed path to the National Championship game, and what teams reside on their side of the bracket.

After Oregon's first round bye, they'll be playing in the Rose Bowl. The opponent that they'll be playing will be the winner of the No. 8 vs No. 9 matchup, which is now schedule to be a home game for Ohio State against Tennessee.

There's plenty of conversation surrounding the bracket, and Oregon is at the center of all of it. For earning the No. 1 seed, Oregon's path to the semifinals will go through Ohio State or Tennessee. Meanwhile, Penn State, the team they just beat in the Big Ten Championship, will have a first round home game against SMU and then, if they win, a quarterfinal game against Boise State. What would you say looks like the easier path on paper?

It's an interesting conversation, and one that will likely continue through the off-season, about whether or not the seeding is as it should be.

For Oregon, it means that the potential now exists for the newest Big Ten rivalry to add a new chapter in the Ducks' first season in the conference.

On October 12, Oregon hosted Ohio State in Autzen Stadium in what was one of the best college football games of the season, and was arguably the biggest game in Autzen Stadium history. Oregon won, 32-31, lighting a new conference battle on their way to the top of the rankings.

Ohio State head coach Ryan Day has troubles with big games, but beating the same team twice in a season is no easy task. Not to look past Tennessee at all, but if Oregon and Ohio State do meet for a second time, and this time in the Rose Bowl, it will pose a massive opportunity for Oregon to continue to cement their status as the best team in college football.

Oregon will get to sit back next weekend and watch the chaos unfold, scouting their potential opponents. Ducks' fans should be tuned in as Ohio State hosts Tennessee on Saturday, December 14th at 8 PM ET.
