When Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule met with the media Wednesday, the majority of the questions revolved around reflecting on the season and where things go from here.
But when a question was asked about a couple sophomores who walked on Senior Day last week, the stage was set.
"Ty (Hahn) has got his degree," Rhule began. "He's engaged. He's going back home to farm with his dad."
Note: Hahn just completed his sophomore year of eligibility but has spent four seasons in Lincoln with one season not counting due to the COVID-19 pandemic and another being a redshirt year.
Upon hearing the news, Omaha World Herald Sports Editor Sam McKewon noted the update in a concise manner.
"Rhule says Ty Hahn (going to farm, engaged) and Blaise Gunnerson (injuries) are moving on from NU football."
going to farm, engaged
The internet took those four words and ran.
“Almost all of us will be going pro in something other than sports.”
All of this said, congrats to Ty and the future Mrs. Hahn on their agrarian adventure!
