The SEC did the Tennessee Vols a big favor during the 2024 college football season.
For years, it seemed like Tennessee constantly ended up with the least desirable game times in the SEC. But that's changing in a big way during the Josh Heupel era.
Tennessee is now getting marquee game times almost every week.
And that is absolutely massive for the Vols when it comes to recruiting.
Under the direction of Tennessee athletic director Danny White, night games at Neyland Stadium have become one of the most impressive scenes in college football.
Stadium upgrades, which includes lighting, have led to a first class night game experience at Neyland that is second to none.

Thanks to the SEC, the Vols have had plenty of opportunities this season to show off their night game atmosphere to recruits and fans.
Counting this weekend's game against Mississippi State, Tennessee's had four night games in Neyland Stadium in 2024 (Kent State, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi State). The Vols' game against Alabama started at 3:30 PM ET and ended as darkness was falling over Neyland Stadium.
(Note: Tennessee won't be hosting recruits for the Mississippi State game as part of the punishment from the Jeremy Pruitt scandal, but that doesn't change that UT will still have another opportunity to show off their night environment in an SEC game, which will be evident via social media and the TV broadcast of the game....plus anyone who attends the game will obviously get to experience the incredible environment.)
Ole Miss will finish the regular season with zero night SEC home games (the Rebels' only night games came early in the season against Furman and Georgia Southern).
Alabama's had three night home games so far this season, but only one of those (against Georgia) came against an SEC opponent.
Speaking of Georgia, their first home night game of the season will be next Saturday night when Tennessee visits Athens (Georgia will finish the season with a home night game against Georgia Tech).
Fancy light shows aren't very useful without an opportunity to use them at night. Thanks to the SEC, Tennessee's had plenty of opportunities this season to utilize all the new bells and whistles that have been added to Neyland Stadium's arsenal.
