Week 8 of the college football season began on Tuesday with three games.
Western Kentucky lost to Florida International, 25-6, despite the Hilltoppers being at home and being the favorites in the game.
Wednesday night included two more FBS games. Sam Houston State lost to UTEP, 35-17, as Sam Houston State remains winless on the year.
However, an upset took place on Wednesday night as Jacksonville State defeated Delaware, 38-25, despite Delaware State being a 2.5-point favorite, per ESPN BET.
Jacksonville State had alternated wins and losses coming into this game. Delaware entered with a loss after a 3-1 start to the season.
It was all Jacksonville State early on as the Gamecocks jumped out to a 21-0 lead at the start of the second quarter in the Conference USA showdown.
Jacksonville State went into halftime with a 21-6 lead, and the Gamecocks moved it to 35-6 right before a Delaware touchdown in the final minutes of the third quarter.
Jacksonville State quarterback Caden Creel threw for 116 yards with a touchdown. Gamecocks running back Cam Cook led the way, however, with 18 carries for 117 yards and three touchdowns.

Delaware QB Nick Minicucci went 32-of-50 for 422 yards and just one touchdown. Running back Viron Ellison Jr. had three touchdowns on just eight carries for 15 yards.
Delaware had more yards than Jacksonville State, outgaining the Gamecocks 456-388. However, Delaware had two turnovers, and Jacksonville State started off strong to take a large lead.
Delaware now moves to 3-3 on the year and has a game next against Middle Tennessee State, as Jacksonville State goes to 4-3 and had a bye in Week 9 before taking on Middle Tennessee State in Week 10.
