The Florida Gators have a solid recruiting class as we get closer to the start of the 2025 season. Head coach Billy Napier entered the month of June with just two commitments and six weeks later they have a whopping 18 of them. The class currently sits at 12th in the country per On3/Rivals and sixth in the SEC.
There could be one more joining the ranks ahead of the start of the 2025 season, and that's wide receiver Somourian Wingo, who is set to make his commitment on Thursday, July 17th.

Getting Wingo on board would be a really good win for the Gators heading into August. They have been looking to add at least one more wide receiver in the 2026 class.
One player they have been looking at outside of Wingo is four-star Davian Groce out of Frisco, Texas. Oklahoma did receive an expert prediction to land him, but they haven't stopped working toward landing him.
Wingo is a talented player in his own right. Out of St. Augustine, Florida, the 6'3 190 lb Wingo is the 139th-ranked overall recruit, while also being the 19th-ranked recruit in the state of Florida and the 20th-ranked receiver per the Rivals Industry Rankings. The Gators have an 87.2% chance to land him in per the Recruiting Prediction Machine, but South Carolina has been hot on his trail. However, the Gators and Miami (FL) have been battling for him for weeks.
His commitment coming on Thursday could mean something with the Gators' pursuit with Groce, as they believe he could be used in a similar manner to Percy Harvin. Wingo isn't that type of wide receiver, but his size and athleticism would be a good addition to four-stars Marquez Daniel and Justin Williams
