Most of the top 2026 quarterback recruits are committed, but there are a few who are still taking time to make a decision. One of those is five-star Ryder Lyons, who has announced when his commitment date will be.

The California native will choose between the USC Trojans and four other schools, including Big Ten rivals the Ohio State Buckeyes and Oregon Ducks. That decision will come on June 24, which is just on the horizon. It will come just after he visits the BYU Cougars and is also considering the Ole Miss Rebels.

Lyons took an official visit to Oregon last weekend, and according to recruiting sites, they look to be the favored destination.

He has not had an official visit to the Trojans, but did visit back in April. Lyons was impressed with head coach Lincoln Riley and the thought of staying in California. However, he did cancel his OV for June, which may be a pointer that USC is out of the race.

The Trojans already have a top-ranked quarterback committed from the 2026 class in Jonas Williams, the No. 9 QB according to the On3 Industry Rankings, with Lyons, ranked No. 5. It's uncommon for two top-ten players at the position to commit to the same school, but it's not unheard of. Williams committed back in February, and his relationship is very strong.

Williams is currently at the Elite 11 Finals and is performing well. He is also embracing the role as a recruiter for Lincoln Riley and the Trojans, trying to convince some of the top players to head to Southern California.
