Former Duquesne defensive back Ayden Garnes announced on Twitter (X) that he will be revealing his transfer destination this Friday, December 15th.
Garnes will be choosing between Cincinnati and West Virginia - the two schools he visited. He also held offers from Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Ball State, Coastal Carolina, Florida International, Georgia State, Indiana, Liberty, Temple, Texas State, Tulane, UConn, UMass, Western Kentucky, and Western Michigan.
"I love the program and the atmosphere down in Morgantown," Garnes told Mountaineers Now. "They believe I’m a high caliber player that can make a difference now and that two starting corners are leaving. I felt the love the minute I walked through the door."
Garnes recorded three tackles and a pass breakup in Duquesne's matchup with West Virginia earlier this season. He finished the year with 51 tackles, five tackles for loss, 11 pass breakups, two interceptions, one fumble recovery, and a sack. Garnes was a First Team All-NEC performer and was graded as the third-best corner in FCS by Pro Football Focus.
Garnes has two years of eligibility remaining.
