Tracking Every Major College Football Award That Colorado Star Travis Hunter Has Won

Whether college football fans realize it or not, Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter is a generational talent, and there's a good chance we may never see someone accomplish what he has again.

He dominates at both corner and wide receiver, seemingly never coming off the field. On top of being one of the best players in the sport, he also has an electrifying personality that he shows off with fun dances, a positive attitude and a surprisingly large collection of onesies.

However, many fans across the country have failed to or at least chosen not to acknowledge just how special of a season Hunter has had this season. A task that has become nearly impossible after Thursday night's ESPN "College Football Awards" show.

Hunter made history by becoming the first player to win both the Biletnikoff (best receiver) and Bednarik Award (best defensive player), but his list of achievements doesn't stop there. He has racked up a handful of the most prestigious awards the sport has to offer, and the list somehow keeps growing.

Here is a running list of every award that Hunter has won this college football season:

  • AP Player of the Year
  • Bednarik Award (Best Defensive Player)
  • Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year
  • Biletnikoff (Best Wide Receiver)
  • Lott IMPACT Trophy (Top Defensive Player on and off the field)
  • Paul Hornung (Most Versatile)
  • Walter Camp Award (Player of the Year)

Hunter has also been named to multiple All-America teams, including being named All-Big 12 First Team at both wide receiver and corner. While his list of awards is already extensive and impressive as it is, there is still one final award that he is up for, which is the most prestigious of them all, the Heisman Trophy.

On Saturday, Hunter will find out if he wins the award, becoming the first player to suit up on defense since Michigan's Charles Woodson (1997) to win it. He would also become just the fifth receiver to win the award, with Alabama's DeVonta Smith winning in 2020.

This season, Hunter racked up 92 catches for 1,152 yards while adding 14 receiving and one rushing touchdown on offense. Defensively, he racked up 31 total tackles, one forced fumble, 11 pass deflections and four interceptions.

According to DraftKings, Hunter is the overwhelming favorite to win the award at -2000, with Boise State Ashton Jeanty having the second-best odds at +800.

If Hunter wins the Heisman, and likely even if he somehow doesn't, his 2024 college football season will be one that is talked about for years to come.
