Travis Hunter Earns Top Five Grade At Multiple Positions After Heisman Season

In counting down their top 101 college football players in 2024, Pro Football Focus College revealed the grades and rankings of the game's best players across every position.

Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, the wide receiver and cornerback superstar from the Colorado Buffaloes, was revealed to be PFF's top player and finished the 2024 season as the No. 3 cornerback and No. 5 wide receiver.

In Hunter's top 101 write-up, the 21-year-old two-way talents headline the list.

"Simply put, Hunter is the greatest two-way player in college football history. The Heisman Trophy winner was third among all cornerbacks in the nation with a 90.3 coverage grade and fifth among FBS wideouts with an 89.0 receiving grade. His 15 receiving touchdowns were tied for the most in the Power Four while his four interceptions were tied for fifth among corners in that same group."

Hunter was selected No. 2 by the Cleveland Browns in PFF's most recent NFL mock draft.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Charles Woodson recently praised Hunter's two-way abilities. The former NFL legend believes that wherever Hunter ends up in the NFL, that team must use him on both offense and defense.

"At the next level, when you got a guy with that amount of talent, you can't just have him sitting on the sideline. What I believe they should do is -- he's a defensive player. He's a defensive back. He'll start there... But you're gonna have packages on offense for him."

In addition to winning the Heisman, Hunter won the Walter Camp, Chuck Bednarik, Fred Biletnikoff, Lott and Paul Hornung Awards in 2024. He was the AP College Football Player of the Year and a Unanimous All-American.

Hunter caught 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also collected 35 total tackles, four interceptions, one forced fumble and 11 passes defended.
