Travis Hunter Had Hilarious Message For Rapper Lil Wayne In Heisman Speech

If you ever questioned how dedicated Travis Hunter is to his craft, it took until meeting his fiancee to hear a Lil Wayne song...

During Saturday night's Heisman acceptance speech, the Buffs' two-way star went through his list of thank yous and eventually got to the multi-platinum rapper (who was in attendance) and admitted to Wayne that he didn't know any of his songs until he met the love of his life.

"Wayne, you don't know how you came into our life. My fiancee loves you. I didn't know none of your songs until she let me know — cause I don't listen to music — she let me know, she told me!" Hunter said. "From that day on, that's all I listened to..."

Fans were in tears online.

"Travis Hunter thanking Lil Wayne for helping him win the Heisman Trophy has to be the funniest moment in acceptance speech history," College Sports Only said.

"Travis Hunter slept on Lil Wayne for a MINUTE," Yahoo Sports laughed.

"The first ever Heisman Trophy speech to feature Lil Wayne lyrics, by Travis Hunter," a user cried.

"'First I wanna thank God. Never thought I'd be here. Crazy what belief will do.' ... Travis Hunter after winning Heisman ... Thanked his family, Prime, Shedeur, Lil Wayne, his HSFB Coach … and last his father. This was an all time speech," Brad Crawford said. "Incredible."

"Travis Hunter's family being in the nosebleeds while Lil Wayne sits front row is insane," a fan sobbed laughing.

Hunter won the award by the smallest margin of victory since Mark Ingram's 2009 campaign — putting a punctuation mark on a one-of-a-kind career.

He and Colorado will look to finish it off the right way with a win in the Alamo Bowl in Travis' last game Dec. 28.
