ESPN's David Hale had Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty as his favorite to win the Heisman Trophy following the Week 13 slate of college football games. Hale placed Colorado cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter in second place before the Buffaloes' final game of the regular season.
On Thursday, FanDuel Sportsbook gave Hunter -800 odds of winning the Heisman before the Buffaloes' matchup on Friday against Oklahoma State. Jeanty was given +650 odds.
Hunter's odds took a major shift for the better during Colorado's game against the Cowboys. Hunter had an impressive first half as the Buffaloes jumped out to a 21-0 halftime lead. (Colorado needed a win over Oklahoma State to stay in contention to play in the Big 12 Championship Game.)
The junior from Suwanee, Georgia, recorded four receptions for 22 yards and a touchdown after two quarters of play. Hunter also recorded an interception of Oklahoma State quarterback Maealiuaki Smith.
As Brett McMurphy with Action Network HQ would point out, Hunter's odds would jump to -8000 during Colorado's contest against Oklahoma State.
"After 1st half of early games Friday, Colorado’s Travis Hunter now -8000 to win Heisman," McMurphy posted on X.

Jeanty fell to having +2500 odds. Miami quarterback Cameron Ward has +10000 odds to win the coveted award.
Hunter entered Friday's contest with 82 receptions for 1,036 yards and 11 touchdowns.
The 21-year-old recorded 30 tackles, nine passes defended, one forced fumble and three interceptions through the Buffaloes' first 11 games.
