Beck spent his first four seasons with the Georgia Bulldogs. After backing up Stetson Bennett for two years, Beck became the starter in 2023. He led the Bulldogs to a 24-3 record as the starter. In 2024 he threw for 3,485 yards and 28 touchdowns but had 12 interceptions. His season ended with an elbow injury in the SEC championship game.
Beck originally declared for the NFL draft after the season. Beck instead decided to rehab his injury and stay in college. It came as a surprise to many when he announced he was going to transfer out of Athens.
When he announced he was transferring to the Miami Hurricanes, many took to social media saying it was because that is where Cavinder plays.
“Honestly, I was not involved at all. I know that a lot of people probably think that. But no, I was not involved at all,” she says. “It was honestly what was the best decision for him and where he was gonna fit and be able to be successful…”
It wouldn’t be the first time a college student chose a school to be with his girlfriend, if that is why he did choose Miami. It doesn’t hurt that he moves to a competitive team in a weaker conference. Let’s not forget that the reported $4 million in NIL money makes the move a little easier.
