Transfers are an important part of college football in 2025. But at times it gets difficult to figure out where certain players are playing and if they’re even still on a team. That was the situation with quarterback TJ Finley, who recently emerged on a new roster.
Finley will be playing with Georgia State in 2025. The notable part about this is that it will be his sixth school in six seasons. In a world of transfer chaos, Finley is redefining the definition of chaos.
Here is a quick rundown of each of his previous stops:
After he entered the transfer portal during the summer, he managed to stay off the radar for a bit before recently re-emerging on the Georgia State roster. While he is officially on the roster, his status for Saturday’s game against Memphis is unknown.
When/if he becomes eligible, his experience could prove to be very valuable for an offense that only managed one touchdown during a 63-7 loss at Ole Miss. During the loss, the quarterback tandem of Cameran Brown and Christian Veilleux combined to complete 12 of 25 passes for 69 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
And if you’re wondering, this isn’t Finley’s final season of eligibility. So, where will he be playing in 2026?
