Tuesday Morning Pigskin is a little late this week, so let’s get right to it.

TUESDAY MORNING PIGSKIN

CFB IS A WRAP

The D1 regular football season is over. The ARMY/NAVY classic is over with a thrilling one-point Win for Navy by a score of 17-16. It is now onto the Bowling for Dollars season as well as the Championship season for the Top 12 teams.

It also marks the beginning of the All-Star Game series, headed by the East/West Shrine Game and Senior Bowl at the end of January. Then comes the Scouting Combine as we roll toward the NFL Draft. I have good news and bad news for you.  Most of the Bowl Games will look more like Spring Practice scrimmages as many of the junior & senior players will head to Performance Camps instead of playing the meaningless Bowl venues, which pretty much means all games not leading up to the Championship games.

As a start to that time of the football year, I decided to compose my present Top 50 Prospect list. Please keep in mind that some players mentioned herein will choose to stay in school rather than declare for the Draft. Notices of who’s heading to the Draft are already rolling in, as well as those staying in school. Just today, it is being reported that ARCH MANNING is returning to Texas for the 2026 college season. Smart move, ARCH. Even tho ARCH improved significantly over the course of the 2025 season, he can still use another collegiate year to climb higher in the QB group rankings for the 2027 Draft. I am also assuming here that TY SIMPSON at Alabama will make a similar decision. They may both make as much money in college as they would as NFL Rookies.
