UCF fans, help is on the way!
This time, it’s the addition of FIU transfer Keyone Jenkins, who has been a star with the Panthers over his three seasons in Miami, Florida.
Jenkins, a 6-foot, 190-pound junior from Miami, brings with him a sensational pocket passer presence to Orlando, and it has shown up in a big way over the past few seasons. In his career, the Florida native has posted 546 completions for 6,721 yards through the air with a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 42-25.
He became the 29th addition for UCF in this season’s portal cycle in an effort to flip the script for Scott Frost and company this year. In his first year back with the program, Frost’s group finished 13th in the league, missing bowl eligibility at 5-7 overall, with a conference record of 2-7. A large portion of losses could be placed on inconsistent quarterback play, with a revolving door of Tayven Jackson, Cam Fancher, and Jacurri Brown all struggling to get the job done.
Coming out of Miami Central High School in the Class of 2023, Jenkins was listed as a three-star prospect and the nation’s 1373rd-ranked player. He also checked in as the 64th-ranked player at his position and the 196th-ranked player in the state of Florida. Though many experts gave crystal balls predicting Jenkins would end up at Auburn, the Panthers won out in the recruitment and landed a really solid player.
Now, he brings that winning pedigree to UCF, where they needed some fresh faces under center.
