UNLV Rebels head coach Dan Mullen has hit the transfer portal hard, and he now has another prize to show for his efforts.
It was announced that linebacker Justin Flowe, once one of the top high school recruits in the nation, has transferred to UNLV from Arizona.

A former five-star recruit, Flowe began his collegiate career with the Oregon Ducks in 2020 as a highly-touted pickup. However, injuries caused significant damage to his career, as he only played in 12 games over three seasons with the Ducks. He entered the transfer portal in 2023, ending up at Arizona.
His time in Tucson started off promising enough, recording 45 tackles and a sack in his first season with the Wildcats. He was mostly relegated to special teams in 2024, however, leading to his decision to redshirt after four games and ultimately enter the portal again.
Despite the trials and tribulations Flowe has faced throughout his college career, this represents a massive get for UNLV as they hope to take the next step as a Group of Five powerhouse.
Major programs such as Miami, USC, and Texas were all seen as fits for Flowe in the transfer portal. While interest in the former five-star recruit was relatively unknown, it would be impressive for UNLV to beat back some of the biggest programs in the nation to secure Flowe for their defense. With 38 commitments now in the transfer portal, Mullen has done a nice job painting Las Vegas as a new college football hotbed.
If Flowe can stay healthy and live up to his immense potential, the Rebels will be a much better team in 2025 for it.
