Week 5 of college football is shaping up with some thrilling matchups, including four Top 25 clashes on Saturday that could significantly shake up the AP rankings by Sunday morning.
Among the marquee games, No. 17 Alabama heads to Athens to face No. 5 Georgia, but arguably the biggest showdown is No. 6 Oregon traveling to Happy Valley to take on No. 3 Penn State.
On Wednesday, during the latest episode of the "Triple Option" podcast, legendary coach and current Fox Sports "Big Noon Kickoff" analyst Urban Meyer shared his prediction for the Big Ten showdown.
He sees the Ducks, currently 3-point underdogs according to DraftKings Sportsbook, pulling off a dramatic road win over Penn State—a statement victory for Dan Lanning’s team.
“On tape, it’s Oregon. Oregon’s going to win the game," Meyer said. "Penn State has probably played the worst non-conference schedule I can remember, so other than the respect I have for that damn White Out—that’s worth about seven points—I’m picking the Ducks.
"I think Oregon wins it on a walk-off, either with a field goal or after a Penn State miss. It’s going to be one of the great games of the year, in the most difficult environment in college football.”
Both Oregon and Penn State come into the matchup undefeated, but as Meyer pointed out, neither has truly been tested yet.
For the Ducks, this will mark their first real road challenge of the season, and it comes with a new quarterback in Dante Moore—who has been impressive so far—going up against a veteran Nittany Lions team loaded with experience on both sides of the ball.
