Colorado State blew it.

All it had to do was beat a struggling Fresno State team and it would be right there in the Mountain West Championship mix, but … nope.

The offense fell flat, and now the Rams have to settle for being the third-best team the conference’s bowl pecking order.

Utah State has been on a nice run. It’s been a rough year on and off the field, but after a 1-6 start the Aggies have won three of their last four with the offense cranking it up.

It’s out of the bowl picture, but a win would close the season with a ton of momentum going into the offseason.

Utah State vs Colorado State: Who Will Win?

The Utah State running game has been fantastic. It ripped through Hawaii for 321 yards, followed it up with 322 against San Diego State, and it should all do well against Colorado State.

The defense is about to get ripped to shreds.

Utah State has the nation’s fourth-worst defense in total yards allowed. Even after holding down the ground games over the last few weeks, it’s about to bear the brunt of a Colorado State ground game coming off the clunker against Fresno State.

The Rams will move the ball however they want to on the way to over 500 yards in a fun back-and-forth fight for a half.

And then it’ll be all Colorado State.
