Diego Pavia and the Vanderbilt Commodores suffered their first loss of the season in Week 6 to the Alabama Crimson Tide. However, they can bounce back with an upcoming matchup against the No. 11 LSU Tigers.
Sitting at 5-1, Vanderbilt seems poised for its second straight winning season. Much of that can be attributed to Pavia, who has thrown for 1,409 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions. He has also rushed for 352 yards and two touchdowns.
His production has put a spotlight on the Commodores, who are looking for their first SEC title in program history. It's also provided several exciting off-field opportunities for Pavia.
On Friday, Pavia announced a new Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) partnership with Buona, an American restaurant chain.
"Pulled up to @Buonabeef in the Boro to see what the hype was about Tried their Italian Beef a few different ways, and believe me, If you’ve never had an Italian Beef from Chicago, you’re missing out," Pavia wrote via an Instagram post. "Pull up to Buona to try one. They’re straight #BuonaBeef #ad"
The Vanderbilt quarterback cashing in on an NIL opportunity comes as no surprise. On3 gives Pavia an NIL valuation of $1.7 million, which is tied for the 23rd highest in college football.
This isn't the first time he's partnered with a restaurant, either, previously posting "Shout out @raisingcanes @toddgroves for sponsoring the boys before gameday," as part of a deal with Raising Cane's in 2024.
Another exciting deal represents a growing popularity for Pavia, as he plays out his final year of eligibility.
He has the opportunity to build his brand among Vanderbilt fans, starting with a win over LSU. ESPN's matchup predictor gives the Commodores a 62.5% chance of winning.
