Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers reportedly finalized their 105-man roster, according to a new report by ESPN, effectively closing the book on the ex-NFL and SEC drama – for now.

This story is far from over, and one of the former Ole Miss players in question, Dae’Quan Wright, who, along with Zxavian Harris were recruited to LSU by Kiffin’s staff after being waived by NFL franchises, is preparing for some brand of legal action against the SEC for keeping him out of college football, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, shared live on the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday.

State courts in Texas and Louisiana previously ruled the players eligible before the SEC filed its own paperwork in Alabama, giving itself the authority to enforce its eligibility policies shortly thereafter.

"I do think that his lawyers are looking at legal action potentially against the SEC for keeping him out of LSU."

We’re now in a world where a professional football player – by every standard of the word professional – is now weighing legal action over being kept out of the college ranks. Wright enjoyed a four-year career between Virginia Tech and Ole Miss, which nearly appeared in a national championship game last year.

This narrative that these players are suddenly on an island is bogus. They’re well within their ability to train, prepare, and work with their agent to pursue a professional opportunity should one exist.

Kiffin clearly weighed his options, and this was the correct path. Ink the roster, move away from the media frenzy around this topic and start winning some football games.
