Watch: West Virginia HC Neal Brown gets doused in mayo after bowl game win

While some bowl games award their victors with sweet treats like the Pop-Tarts Bowl's edible trophy, the Duke's Mayo Bowl awards its victors by bathing them in what is perhaps the world's most controversial condiment.

After beating a Drake Maye-less North Carolina team 30-10 on Wednesday, West Virginia's Neal Brown became the latest coach to be awarded the illustrious mayo dump.

"I feel cold, I feel wet, but I feel like a winner," Brown said after being doused in mayonnaise, via ESPN's Adam Rittenberg.

West Virginia was in complete control of Wednesday's game from the opening play from scrimmage when QB Garrett Greene connected with WR Traylon Ray for a 75-yard touchdown.

Greene finished the game 12-of-24 passing for 228 yards and one touchdown while adding 64 yards on the ground.

The Mountaineers defense also kept UNC QB Conner Harrell in check during his first career start, limiting him to 199 yards and one touchdown while intercepting two of his passes.

Not many could have predicted the Mountaineers' 9-4 record, let alone Brown still being their head coach. West Virginia was predicted to finish 14th in the Big 12 preseason poll, and Brown was on one of the hottest seats in the country as he entered 2023 with a 22-25 record as the Mountaineers' coach.

But with conference powerhouses Texas and Oklahoma set to leave for the SEC, the Mountaineers could be a strong contender for the Big 12 title next season.
