The Cotton Bowl matchup between No. 5 seed Texas and No. 8 Ohio State has plenty of headlines in a massive College Football Playoff semifinal clash.
The game features Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, who began his career as a backup at Ohio State before going to Texas.
The winner will move on to the College Football Playoff national title game, and both teams are feeling great after massive wins on New Year's Day.
Unfortunately, the Cotton Bowl is facing some severe challenges with snow and ice expected to hit the Dallas area on Thursday and Friday leading up to the game.
As a result, ticket prices for the highly-anticipated showdown have taken a big dip.
Initially, standing-room ticket prices were $428 on StubHub, as Paul Livengood of ABC mentioned.
As of Tuesday, standing-room-only tickets on StubHub were $106 before taxes and fees, a significant drop in just a matter of days.
Tickets in section 405 are now just $109 on StubHub, and the ABC report mentions those were initially north of $500.
At the time of publication, The Weather Channel had no snow predicted for Friday (the day of the game). However, there is "Rain and snow in the evening turning to all snow late" on Thursday night, which could be a major concern for fans trying to make their way to Dallas.
The good news for the teams is AT&T Stadium is indoors so there shouldn't be any field condition issues.
Kickoff time is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday night, so the weather situation will be something to monitor as the game gets closer.
