West Virginia has bolstered its offensive line with the addition of former Oklahoma lineman Josh Aisosa, who announced his transfer to the Mountaineers on Thursday.
Listed at 6-foot-3, 330 pounds, Aisosa is a redshirt freshman from Edmond, Oklahoma, and will have four years of eligibility remaining.
Aisosa did not see game action for the Sooners in 2024, but was a rather surprising entry for the program, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.
Coming out of Edmond Santa Fe, Aisosa was a three-star recruit in the 2024 class, ranking as the No. 52 offensive lineman nationally by On3 and No. 63 overall by ESPN.
He chose Oklahoma over Army, Iowa State, Navy, Texas State, UNLV, and UTSA among others.
With West Virginia as his new home, Aisosa is expected to compete for a backup role this fall, with the potential to develop into a starter on the interior offensive line in the coming years.
His addition addresses a critical need for the Mountaineers, who have been seeking to strengthen their offensive line depth with an entirely new system and scheme under head coach Rich Rodriguez.
The Mountaineers will open their 2025 season against Robert Morris on Saturday, August 30.
