What to watch for in the 2nd half of Alabama vs. ULM

Alabama football is up big over Louisiana-Monroe 42-0, at halftime.

Here’s what to watch for from the Crimson Tide in the 2nd half of this ball game:

– With the Alabama defense only surrendering 43 total yards of total offense to ULM in the first half, it’ll be interesting to see how much more action the starting Alabama defense sees in the second half. The Tide’s defense was a notable area of concern against Florida State in week one due to lackadaisical efforts at all three levels. It’ll be interesting to see what approach defensive coordinator Kane Wommack goes with in the 2nd half to close out this contest. Shutting the Warhawks out will be a priority.

– Alabama football has trotted both Ty Simpson and Austin Mack in the first half against ULM. With the Tide leading by a favorable amount into the second half, how long will it take for talented true freshman quarterback Keelon Russell to see the field for the Tide on offense?

– How many points the Crimson Tide will muster in the second half is something else to watch out for.

– Penalties continue to be a bump in the road for Alabama football in all facets of the game, now tied with ULM for 3 flags. This isn’t as big of a concern as it normally would be due to the control Alabama has had on this game, but it will be in the future. Penalties have wiped points off the board.
