There's a lot of talk surrounding the Texas Longhorns ahead of the season, with some projecting that the team will win the next national title game after coming up one win short of an appearance for the past two seasons.
And one of the biggest factors in the team's success as of late has been head coach Steve Sarkisian's play-calling, as well as his wins on the recruiting trail. That's also precisely the reason why Sarkisian has been ranked among college football's top head coaches heading into the 2025 season by multiple outlets, including On3 Sports.
The network placed him at No. 3 on its top-10 list, behind only Kirby Smart (Georgia) and Ryan Day (Ohio State). Some may find that a bit controversial with the way Georgia has struggled as of late, though Smart has brought what at one point looked like it could be a dynasty to the program.
Day, on the other hand, just added a national title victory for the Buckeyes and completed perhaps the biggest turnaround we saw for a head coach last season.
Behind Sarkisian, in order, were Kalen DeBoer (Alabama), Dan Lanning (Oregon), Marcus Freeman (Notre Dame), Dabo Swinney (Clemson), Brian Kelly (LSU), James Franklin (Penn State) and Josh Heupel (Tennessee).

It will be interesting to watch what ultimately comes of Sarkisian and the Longhorns as the team looks to get over the hump with quarterback Arch Manning at the helm.
