We have waited a long time for the return of college football and the first full weekend of games and it is finally here. Unfortunately for fans of both the LSU Tigers and USC Trojans, they have to wait one more day to see their teams debut.
The good part for fans of the Tigers and Trojans is their game will be seen by the entire nation, as it's the only FBS game on Sunday night. It's one of the perks of the college football season starting before the National Football League season.
These two teams are meeting for just the third time in their history with the Trojans winning 17-12 in 1979 and the Tigers winning 23-3 in 1983.
Kickoff: 6:30 p.m., Sept. 1; Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, Nevada
Where to watch: ABC
Announcers: Rece Davis (play-by-play), Kirk Herbstreit (analysis)
Stream: Fubo, ESPN+
This is primed to be a really good matchup between two historic power house programs. Both schools are replacing their quarterbacks with Miller Moss taking over for first overall pick Caleb Williams and Garrett Nussmeier set to take over for Jayden Daniels the second overall pick.
Defense isn't likely to be a huge factor in this game, but the inexperience at quarterback for both sides could prove to be a problem. Both starting quarterbacks got their first starts last season in their teams bowl games and got wins in those starts. Who is ready to take the next step? That will be the biggest story to watch on Sunday night.
