Which college football coaches could be the next to go?

The college football coaching carousel never truly stops. After 13 Power FIve programs and Notre Dame entered this season with a new head coach, two more have already made a change, with Nebraska's Scott Frost and Arizona State's Herm Edwards ousted. Less than a month into the season, three more coaches find themselves  on the hot seat.

Bryan Harsin, who fought to keep his job after allegations of player mistreatment in the offseason, is now in an on-field fight to stay on the Auburn sidelines. The Tigers are 2-1, but that includes a less-than- impressive win over San Jose State and a 41-12 home loss to Penn State.

If Auburn doesn't rebound against Missouri and LSU in the coming weeks, the season could turn disastrous with five ranked opponents on the schedule in the final seven weeks. A home loss to Missouri on Saturday would create a world of problems for Harsin.

Karl Dorrell was the product of an unfortunate situation for Colorado when Mel Tucker bolted after only one season. Colorado went 4-2 in Dorrell's first season, but the wheels have fallen off since. After a 4-8 campaign last year, the Buffaloes have started with three consecutive losses by at least 25 points.

After losing 49-7 to Minnesota last Saturday, Colorado is a three-touchdown home underdog against UCLA this weekend. UCLA barely escaped South Alabama last week. Colorado looks like it's headed for a couple wins at most, and the clock is ticking on Dorrell.

Georgia Tech's Geoff Collins is essentially a lameduck coach. The Yellow Jackets are 10-27 since he took over in 2019, and the situation is only worsening. Dating to last season, Georgia Tech has 55-0, 45-0 and 42-0 losses in its past five games.

It's mildly surprising Collins wasn't let go after last week's 42-0 loss to Ole Miss, but his buyout of reportedly more than $10 million complicates the issue for Georgia Tech. Credit goes to Collins for signing a seven-year contract when he was hired in late 2018 -- it might be all that's preserving his job right now.

Louisville's Scott Satterfield bought himself some time with a Week 2 win over UCF, but a home loss to Florida State last week kept him on the hot seat. Hired the same week as Collins in 2018, Satterfield is 19-21 at Louisville and 11-16 since 2020.

While he can probably survive the season, a stretch of five ranked opponents in six weeks to close the season might push the school to make a decision.
