Kansas State’s 2026 recruiting class continues its blistering pace, as the Wildcats secured a fourth commitment in three days with Nick McClellan, a 6‑foot, 185‑pound three-star safety from St. Louis’ Christian Brothers College.
McClellan chose the Wildcats over offers from 11 different programs, including Kansas, Iowa State, Missouri, Iowa, and more.

Since Saturday, Kansas State has added a total of four prospects to their 2026 class, including three-star defensive lineman Kingston Hall, three-star defensive back Garrick Dixon, three-star athlete Hannibal Carter Navies, and now, three-star safety Nick McClellan.
That’s rapid-fire momentum, signaling serious intent from K-State’s staff to fortify key positions early and lock in regionally impactful talent.
McClellan’s strengths lie in football IQ, pursuit angle recognition, and versatility, all traits well-suited for K-State defensive coordinator Joe Klanderman, who prioritizes hybrid safety/cover roles. With multiple official visits and offers still coming in, McClellan’s early decision gives the Wildcats a massive recruiting win with even more time for McClellan to grow as a prospect.
Can K-State maintain this momentum heading into spring offers and official visits? Only time will tell, but it’s safe to say there aren’t many programs hotter on the recruiting trail right now than Chris Klieman and the ‘Cats.
Nick McClellan’s commitment solidifies a defensive-heavy recruiting surge for Kansas State — four high school picks in just three days. His football intelligence and hybrid play fit the Wildcats’ defensive blueprint, adding polish, size, and versatility to a rapidly evolving secondary.
