The Wisconsin Badgers have lost a member of the team after the waiver that had been being provided was reversed in court today.
Nyzier Fourqurean, a former Division-II athlete for Grand Valley State, filed an injunction and requested to have a waiver granting him eligibility for the upcoming season. Fourqurean filed for the waiver over six months ago when Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia filed a similar waived claiming time at a junior college should not count towards the Division-I clock. Pavia was granted a waiver that is part of a blanket move across college football.
Fourqurean had a waiver for the upcoming season with the Wisconsin Badgers but the hope has now run out. The waiver Fourqurean was granted has now been reversed due to the claim of the defensive back not pertaining to the rest of college football.
Junior colleges have become factories in a sense, producing immense amounts of talent to the Division-I level. The decision to turn the Pavia waiver into a blanket decision was easy, but the transfers up from the Division-II level are not quite as prevalent. Fourqurean can again pursue legal action to prove his claim, but the defensive back will need to show how the situation impacts college football beyond just his situation with the Wisconsin Badgers.
The Wisconsin Badgers have refrained from saying much of anything regarding the situation, and Fourqurean himself has not made an official statement. However, the defensive back posted a recent picture of himself in uniform on campus with “lol” across the picture. Fourqurean is seemingly upset with the situation as his football career could now be cut short without a proper good-bye.

Fourqurean has extremely limited time to file another injunction, which likely will not be granted before the start of the season. Unfortunately for the defensive back, hanging up the cleats appears to be the only choice left with no eligibility moving forward.
Moving forward, Fourqurean will have to figure out what to do next in his career while the Badgers will need to fill the position. Some early potential names to watch are Omilio Agard, Jaimier Scott, Cairo Skanes, and safety Austin Brown. Regardless of who fills the position the Badgers are going to be without an experienced player at one of the thinner and younger positions on the field for the team.
