After five seasons in the Wisconsin Badgers football program and experiencing everything the greater Madison area had to offer, defensive end Rodas Johnson entered the transfer portal this offseason.
Johnson, a former top 500 recruit in the 2019 recruiting class, has one year of eligibility remaining and is searching for a new home that will allow him to showcase his full range of abilities on defense in 2024.
According to a report from Matthew Bradham of the PackInsider, Johnson is scheduled to take an official visit with the NC State Wolfpack.
Rodas Johnson was a multi-year starter on the defensive line for the Wisconsin football team, starting 18 games the past two seasons.
In 34 career games with the Wisconsin Badgers, the 6-foot-2, 295-pound defensive end recorded 50 tackles, 29 pressures, 2.5 sacks, two pass deflections, and a forced fumble.
According to Pro Football Focus, Johnson finished with a grade of 67.2 this past season, which their grading scale considers above average. He also led the Wisconsin football defensive line in total snaps this past season and is someone the Badgers will need to replace through the portal.
It’ll be interesting to see where the Ohio native winds up next season.
