Back in March, WVU and head coach Neal Brown agreed to new contract on the heels of West Virginia’s 9-4 season in 2023. And while some questioned extending Brown after one successful season, the structure of the deal serves to assist the program. But Brown is also not the only coach with an adjusted contract.
Part of Brown’s new arrangement with WVU includes rewarding several prominent assistant coaches. As first reported by WVSports.com and confirmed by WV Sports Now, Brown taking a $400,000 pay cut over three years will result in raises for his assistant coaches.
Raises for offensive coaches:
Kelsie LeRose / WVSN
Raises for defensive coaches:
Kelsie LeRose / WVSN
All in all, that’s now an additional $455,000 to the coaching staff.
For a related story, Mike Asti explained why Brown’s new contract makes sense for WVU.
