Xavier Restrepo's NFL Draft Stock Plummets After Miami Hurricanes Pro Day

The Miami Hurricanes have a few very talented players gearing up for next month's 2025 NFL draft.

Cam Ward is the clear headliner. At this point in time, it is widely expected that he will be the No. 1 overall pick.

While Ward is the big name out of Miami, wide receiver Xavier Restrepo is an intriguing prospect himself. He put together a strong career as a wide receiver for the Hurricanes and is widely expected to be a third or fourth round pick.

During his career with Miami, Restrepo actually became the program all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns. He broke previous records from former NFL players Santana Moss and Reggie Wayne.

His stock may be starting to drop following his rough showing from a speed perspective during the Hurricanes' pro day.

Cameron Wolfe, a reporter for NFL Network, shared that Restrepo ran a 4.83 40-yard dash. That is not a good number.

In response to Wolfe's post on X, there were quite a few comments that came in about Restrepo's speed.

"He’s sliding all the way off draft boards," one comment read.

Another commenter noted how bad the 4.83 40-yard dash time is, saying "I don't care if it was 3.21, the 4.83 forty is a death sentence for WR, just the facts."

"4.83? You sure he’s not a linebacker?" read another comment.

One positive comment said, "He looks quicker than some 4.3-4.4 guys. Straight line speed doesn’t always translate."

"Restrepo just raised cam wards stock even higher," another fan wrote.

In his whole Miami career, Restrepo totaled 200 receptions for 2,844 yards and 21 touchdowns.
