Shaeffer Gordon-Carroll Commits To Michigan

The University of Michigan continues to add notable commitments. The Wolverines hockey program announced that they’ve received a commitment from forward Shaeffer Gordon-Carroll, a prospect eligible for the 2027 NHL Draft.

Not only is Gordon-Carroll draft-eligible next summer, but he’s also expected to be selected in the latter half of the first round. A product of the Chicago Mission AAA program, Gordon-Carroll finished his last U15 season scoring 33 goals and 95 points in 82 games.

Over the past two years, he has played for the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL. In his personal announcement of his commitment to the University of Michigan, Gordon-Carroll confirmed that he would remain with the Tigers for the 2026-27 season.

In his first year out west, Gordon-Carroll had decent offensive flashes, especially for a 16-year-old, scoring six goals and 25 points in 55 games with a +24 rating. In 17 postseason contests, the Midway, UT native registered two goals and five points.

As expected, Gordon-Carroll took another step forward in the 2025-26 season. He had some mild injury concerns, but still finished the season with 12 goals and 37 points in 41 games with a +26 rating. He finished 11th on the team in scoring.

With another strong season, Gordon-Carroll will likely become a valuable player for the Wolverines in the 2027-28 campaign. The University of Michigan also earned a commitment from Dima Zhilkin a few days ago, so their future forwards corps is already taking shape.
