Indian opener Abhishek Sharma has climbed to the top of the ICC T20I rankings after his brilliant run with the bat in the Asia Cup 2025. The left-hander scored 931 rating points, surpassing England’s Dawid Malan (919), as well as India’s Suryakumar Yadav (912) and Virat Kohli (909). Remarkably, he has become only the sixth batter to cross the 900-point mark in T20I history.
Abhishek’s success came on the back of a stellar campaign where he piled up 314 runs in seven innings at a strike rate of 200, including three half-centuries. His consistency earned him the Player of the Tournament award. With his current tally of 931 points, he also holds a comfortable lead over England’s Phil Salt, who sits at 844.
Meanwhile, Tilak Varma, who struck an unbeaten 69 off 43 balls in the Asia Cup final against Pakistan, jumped to third place in the rankings after scoring 213 runs in the tournament. Other notable movers include Sanju Samson, who advanced eight spots to 31st, Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka, who climbed to fifth, and Kusal Perera, who improved to ninth.
Highest ratings for men’s T20I batters
India’s Kuldeep Yadav has made significant progress in the latest ICC T20I bowling rankings after a standout performance in the Asia Cup 2025. The left-arm wrist-spinner leapt nine spots to 12th position, thanks to his 17 wickets in the tournament. His highlight came in the final against Pakistan, where he claimed four wickets to help India secure a thrilling five-wicket win.
Bangladesh spinner Rishad Hossain was another major gainer, climbing six places to 20th. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya slipped from the No. 1 position in the ICC T20I all-rounders’ rankings after sitting out the Asia Cup 2025 final due to injury. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka skipper Charith Asalanka moved up three spots to joint 30th.
