The ICC Men’s T20I rankings saw many changes after recent Asia Cup performances, yet India’s Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy retained their supremacy. Chakravarthy, despite not taking a wicket against Pakistan in the Super Four stage, produced an economical spell of 0-25, restricting runs and strengthening his hold on the number one bowling spot with a 14-point rating boost.
Hardik Pandya also made progress, climbing six spots to reach 60th in the bowlers’ list while continuing as the leading all-rounder in T20 internationals. Abhishek Sharma displayed consistency with the bat. His quick 38 against Oman in the group stage and a spectacular 74-run match-winning knock against Pakistan ensured his position as the top-ranked batter in the shortest format.
Abhishek’s teammate Tilak Varma also climbed higher in the charts. His composed 30 not out off 19 balls against Pakistan helped seal the chase and lifted him to the third position in batting rankings. In contrast, Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed made remarkable strides in the bowling charts.
His economical 1-8 spell against Sri Lanka, combined with earlier efforts of 2-13 against the UAE, propelled him 12 places upward to secure the fourth spot with 703 points. However, he faced challenges against India with figures of 1-42. Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman regained form and returned to the top 10 bowlers after picking six wickets at an average of just eight across his last two matches. Haris Rauf from Pakistan also gained momentum, jumping nine places to 28th.
The batting charts featured several standout rises. Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan advanced 31 places to claim 24th spot after a steady 58 against India. Hussain Talat produced one of the most dramatic climbs, leaping 1474 positions to joint 234th after his decisive innings against Sri Lanka. Bangladesh’s Saif Hassan impressed as well, moving up 133 places to 81st following his 61-run knock in the Super Four.
Among all-rounders, Pakistan’s Faheem Ashraf improved 12 places to joint 39th due to his consistent bowling control, while Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga rose to seventh after collecting four wickets in two matches. These shifts reflect the growing competitiveness in T20I cricket, yet India’s Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy continue to showcase unmatched stability at the top.
