Arjun Tendulkar produced one of his most impactful performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, delivering strongly with both bat and ball for Goa against Madhya Pradesh. The young all-rounder, who is gradually carving out his own identity in domestic cricket, not only opened the batting but also emerged as the standout bowler in the match.
His 16 runs off 10 balls, including three crisp boundaries, set the tone early for Goa. Later, his disciplined bowling spell dismantled the opposition’s top order, helping Goa secure a comfortable seven-wicket victory with nine balls to spare.
Facing a Madhya Pradesh team captained by Rajat Patidar — who had famously led Royal Challengers Bengaluru to the IPL 2025 title — Arjun showcased remarkable control and confidence. He completed his four-over quota with figures of 3 for 36, removing key batters Ankush Singh, Shivang Kumar and the experienced Venkatesh Iyer.
His ability to strike at crucial moments halted MP’s momentum and ensured Goa stayed in command throughout the chase. Arjun’s decision to open the batting was also an interesting tactical move, highlighting his intent to contribute in multiple roles.
His brief but impactful cameo provided Goa with the ideal start before the middle order finished the job. Overall, his all-round show was crucial in steering Goa to a convincing win in the tournament fixture.
Away from domestic action, Arjun Tendulkar is also preparing for a fresh chapter in the IPL. After representing Mumbai Indians since being first picked in the 2021 auction, he was traded to the Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the 2026 season for his existing base fee of ₹30 lakh.
The move came before MI released their official retention list, signaling LSG’s confidence in his potential. With the stress of the auction removed and clarity on his future in place, Arjun is now fully focussed on polishing his game and aiming for consistent performances.
Since making his IPL debut in 2023, he has appeared in five matches, taking three wickets at an economy rate of 9.37. As he continues to develop his skills and embrace greater responsibility, his recent domestic display indicates that he is ready to take the next step in his cricketing journey.
