Arjun Tendulkar showcased his growing maturity as a fast bowler with a superb three-wicket haul that powered Goa to a dominant victory over Chandigarh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Playing at Eden Gardens, Arjun struck early when he bowled Shivam Bhambri with a sharp delivery in his opening over. His rhythm only improved as he dismissed Arjun Azad and Jagjit Singh, the latter falling to a pinpoint yorker that crashed into the stumps.

Chandigarh, chasing 174, never recovered from the early blows and were eventually bowled out for 121 in 19 overs. Arjun capped off the night by taking the final catch, rounding off figures of 4-0-17-3, a performance that drew praise from fans and analysts, especially as he prepares for his new IPL chapter with Lucknow Super Giants after being traded from the Mumbai Indians.

Ayush Mhatre’s Maiden T20 Ton Lifts Mumbai’s Chase

While Arjun dominated with the ball, Mumbai’s match in the Elite Group A fixture saw a batting masterclass from 18-year-old Ayush Mhatre. The young opener hammered an unbeaten 110 off 53 balls, launching eight sixes—mostly on the leg side—in a sensational display of clean hitting. His knock proved crucial after Mumbai lost Ajinkya Rahane for a duck and Hardik Tamore for just one run, slipping to 21/2 early in the innings.

Suryakumar Yadav joined Mhatre at the crease and contributed a fluent 35 off 30 balls. Their 88-run partnership restored stability and pushed Mumbai firmly into control. Surya’s dismissal in the 12th over brought Shivam Dube to the middle, who immediately shifted gears alongside Mhatre to keep the momentum alive.

Dube’s All-Round Brilliance Completes Mumbai’s Commanding Win

Shivam Dube once again underlined his value as an all-rounder, first with the ball and then with a blistering cameo. Earlier in the day, Vidarbha had raced to a strong start with a 115-run opening partnership between Atharva Taide and Aman Mokhade inside the first ten overs. Taide struck 64 off 36 balls, while Mokhade smashed 61 off 30, setting their team up for a big total.

But Mumbai fought back as Dube picked 3/31 and Sairaj Patil chipped in with 3/33, restricting Vidarbha to 192/9—short of the 200-plus target they seemed destined for. In the chase, Dube delivered again, smashing 39 not out from just 19 balls, including three fours and three sixes. His 85-run stand with Mhatre off only 35 balls ensured Mumbai comfortably reached 194/3 with 13 balls remaining, sealing a decisive seven-wicket win and strengthening their campaign.
