India defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in their second match of the Asia Cup 2025. Chasing 128 runs, the Men in Blue pressed the attacking button from the start and didn’t allow the Pakistan bowlers to settle down. Abhishek Sharma went for big shots, amassing 31 runs off 13 balls, hitting 4 fours and 2 sixes at a strike rate of 238.46. Shubman Gill was dismissed early in the chase after posting 10 runs off 7 deliveries.

Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav batted sensibly. Tilak accumulated 31 runs off 31 balls, with the help of 2 fours and 1 six. He was helped by captain SKY, who managed 47 runs off 37 balls, packed with 5 boundaries and 1 six, as India completed the chase in 15.5 overs.

Saim Ayub took three wickets for Pakistan. Earlier, Pakistan were restricted to 127/9 in 20 overs. It was Shaheen Afridi’s attacking knock that took his team above the 100-run mark. He scored an unbeaten 33 runs off 16 balls, packed with 4 sixes. Sahibzada Farhan’s 40 off 44 deliveries were instrumental in setting up a respectable total. Kuldeep Yadav was once again unplayable, taking three wickets. Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel claimed two wickets each, respectively. Varun Chakravarthy and Hardik Pandya picked up one wicket each.

With this win, India have reached 4 points from 2 matches and are through to the Super 4 stages of the Continental Cup.
