Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 5 wickets to keep their hopes of the Asia Cup 2025 final against India alive. Chasing 134 runs, the Men in Green were ordinary in the batting department but managed to cross the finishing line in 18 overs, with Sahibzada Farhan (24), Fakhar Zaman (17), Hussain Talat (32*), and Mohammad Nawaz (38*) making valuable contributions with the bat in a low-scoring thriller. Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga took two wickets each.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka have been eliminated after suffering their second consecutive defeat in the Super Four stage.
Earlier, Shaheen Afridi (3 wickets) and Haris Rauf (2 wickets) restricted Sri Lanka to 133/8, with Kamindu Mendis scoring a fifty.
