After a thrilling victory on the final day of the series opener Test match, Bangladesh will look to whitewash Pakistan in the Test series when they lock horns in the second and final two-match series on Saturday at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet. Pakistan will be desperate to bounce back and end the series on a draw.
Bangladesh has been dominant against Pakistan in the red-ball format. They thrashed the visitors in the series opener match on the final day by 104 runs. Bangladesh posted 413 runs in their first innings and then followed up with 240/9d in their second innings. Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto was their star performer with the bat in both innings, scoring 101 in the first, then 87 in the second innings. Mominul Haque also got 91 and 56 runs to his name, while Mushfiqur Rahim smashed 71 and 22 across both innings. In bowling, Mehidy Hasan Miraz grabbed an excellent fifer in the first innings, while Nahid Rana wreaked havoc with the ball in the second innings, taking 5 for 40 runs in the second innings.
Meanwhile, Pakistan had to suffer a disappointing loss on their return to Test cricket after six months. Despite going neck-to-neck with their batting in the first innings, somehow the Shan Masood-led side fumbled in the second innings and lost the match by 104 runs. In response to Bangladesh's 413 runs, Pakistan managed to score 386 runs, thanks to Azan Awais' century and the half-centuries from Abdullah Fazal, Salman Agha, and Mohammad Rizwan. Mohammad Abbas had grabbed five in the first innings, while Hasan Ali and Noman Ali had taken three. The visitors will aim to draw the series while winning the last Test match.

The surface in Sylhet offers a flat and slow surface that helps batters and assists spinners as the match progresses. There have been 28 Tests played here so far, with just three matches ending in a draw, and teams batting first have enjoyed a little more success than teams batting second. Spinners are likely to extract good help from the surface as the pitch dries up. The average first innings total here is 319, which indicates that batting during the first innings is easier on a fresh track.
The weather is expected to remain cloudy throughout the entire match, with one or two passing showers predicted on the first two days. The conditions are expected to be warm for this match on the final day, with the highest temperature expected to hit nearly 33°C during the day, and a humidity of 60%.
