India and Pakistan are set to face each other in the Final of the Asia Cup 2025 on Sunday, marking a first-ever meeting in the summit clash of the Continental Cup. It will be their third match in the year’s competition, with India winning the previous two meetings. The hype around the game is touching new levels, with over 100 screens to show the encounter in India.

PVR INOX has announced that the mega match will be shown in more than 100 cinemas across the country.

“The audiences are deeply connected with cricket. The India vs Pakistan match on 14 September saw occupancy reaching 80-90 percent. Fans enjoyed the match. We have a partnership with ITW Universe and the Asian Cricket Council and are going to show the final in over 100 cinemas,” said Aamer Bijli, Lead Specialist – Innovation, Film Marketing and Digital Programming at PVR INOX, to India Today.

The mood has shifted as far as the tournament is concerned, as there were calls for a boycott due to the political tensions between the two countries after the Pahalgam terror attack, but now the fans want to watch the action between India and Pakistan.

The matches have been marred by controversies with Suryakumar Yadav and his players refusing to shake hands with the Pakistani counterparts. Pakistan players Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan made controversial gestures during the Super Four match on September 21. Rauf and Suryakumar were fined by the ICC, while Farhan was let off with a warning.
