CSK vs DC IPL 2026: Key Records and Stats at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai

The Chennai Super Kings are set to face off against the Delhi Capitals in Match 18 of the 2026 Indian Premier League on April 11 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. 

The Super Kings come back home still searching for their first win after three tough games, and they’re eager to turn things around in this season. This will be their second home match, following a disappointing five-wicket defeat to the Punjab Kings on April 3, despite having put up a solid total of 209 runs. 

On the other hand, the Delhi Capitals started strong with wins against the Lucknow Super Giants and the Mumbai Indians, but they faced a heartbreaking loss to the Gujarat Titans in their last match, falling short by just one run in a game they largely controlled. These two teams clashed once in 2025 at Chepauk, where the Delhi Capitals came out on top by 25 runs. 

Chepauk has long been known as a spinner's paradise, thanks to its red-soil pitch that provides plenty of grip and turn, leading teams to load up on spinners when playing there. However, that trend seems to have shifted in recent years, with flatter pitches becoming the norm. 

Dew is also a significant factor at this venue, given its closeness to the sea. In their last outing, CSK scored 209/5, but Punjab managed to chase it down comfortably, showcasing just how batting-friendly the pitch has become.
