Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are back on their home turf as they play their 11th game of the IPL 2026 season. CSK currently have 10 points so far this season after their away win over the Delhi Capitals earlier in the week. The home team will be keen to win their third game on the trot and keep themselves in the hunt for a place in the playoffs.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) finally snapped their dreadful losing run with a win in their last game. Rishabh Pant must have heaved a huge sigh of relief after their win at home against the defending IPL champions. Despite the high, Lucknow are still bottom of the table and have to win all their remaining games and hope for other results to go their way for an unlikely playoff spot.

MA Chidambaram Stadium Pitch Report

In the last afternoon game at this venue, it was the chasing side that won the contest. It will be an easy choice for the captain winning the toss, as they will look to chase down the target. Over the last few games, the spinners have taken the spotlight and made batting difficult for the opposition. Despite this being an afternoon game, one can expect a score between 150-175 on the cards with the side batting second holding the upper hand.

CSK vs LSG: Predicted best performers of the match

Best batter – Sanju Samson

Opening batter Sanju Samson has been in conversations to take over as the new Indian T20I skipper recently. The 31-year-old has been the best Chennai batter this year with two centuries this campaign. With the former IPL champions still in the hunt for a place in the final four, Samson could very well be the hero for his side with the bat once more in front of his adoring home fans.

Best bowler – Prince Yadav

Delhi pacer Prince Yadav has been the standout performer with the ball this season. The 24-year-old produced the ball of the tournament to dismiss Virat Kohli for a duck. Yadav will be keen to keep his form going and help his side beat the hosts on Sunday. The wickets at Chepauk tend to aid the pacers who are skiddy and bowl with sharp pace. This could bring the right-arm pacer into the contest and make life difficult for the home team batters, especially in the first few overs of the game when the ball is new.

Who will win the CSK vs LSG match 53 of IPL 2026?

LSG might have won their last game, but on current form, Chennai Super Kings hold a massive edge going into the contest. One of the biggest advantages for Gaikwad’s men is that the game is being played at home. The batting of Samson and Kartik Sharma, plus the bowling form of Anshul Kamboj, along with Akeal Hosein and Noor Ahmad, will be a huge boost. Chennai could be on the verge of winning their third successive game as they start as favourites over the visiting side on Sunday afternoon.
