Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel has won the toss and elected to bowl first against the Mumbai Indians in match No.8 of the Indian Premier League 2026.
"We will bowl first, as it is the first match at home, so I want to see how the wicket behaves. It is looking hard and also on the dry side. We are feeling confident after winning the previous game. The top order knows that there are batters who can score runs if it fails," Axar Patel said.
Mumbai Indians stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav is not worried after losing the toss.
"Hardik Pandya is unwell, so he is not playing. There is a lot of positivity in the camp after winning the first game in 13 years. We are happy to bat first as the toss is irrelevant. It doesn't matter if we bat or bowl first. We will try to put runs on the board," he said.
