The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season has officially reached its halfway stage. The first game on Saturday will see hosts Delhi Capitals, led by Axar Patel, take the field against table toppers Punjab Kings. The Capitals are coming into the encounter on the back of a massive loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Punjab, on the other hand are playing amazing cricket and they are currently unbeaten with 11 points from six matches. Shreyas Iyer’s side posted a comprehensive win over Lucknow Super Giants in their previous game. Winning on Saturday afternoon will give the Kings’ side another two points.

Arun Jaitley Stadium Pitch Report

The iconic venue will host its 100th IPL match, and the pitch is expected to favour the batters. The team winning the toss could look to bowl first, as historically the ground has seen chasing teams doing well. A new ball will be the best time to cash in for the batters, as there could be spin and bounce when the ball gets a bit older.

DC vs PBKS: predicted best performers of the match

Best batter – Priyansh Arya

The left-handed batter is a local lad who knows these conditions very well and could do well with the bat. Arya has already scored 211 runs from five matches so far at an average of 42 and a strike-rate of 248.

Best bowler – Lungi Ngidi

South African pace bowler has picked up seven wickets from six matches this season. Ngidi has bowled well in the powerplay overs and also been one of the best bowlers for DC in the death overs. If the home team has to win the game on Saturday, then they will hope the right-arm seamer can keep his form going.

Who will win the DC vs PBKS match 35 of IPL 2026?

On current form, Punjab start as the favourites to win the game. Last year’s runners-up have been excellent with the bat and possess one of the most dangerous top-order this season. Bowling too has been pretty decent with the likes of Arshdeep Singh, Xavier Bartlett and Marco Jansen chipping in with key wickets.
