Australia Women continue to extend their hot streak as West Indies were handed a 90-run thrashing which sealed the series with a game to go. In pursuit of 270, the hosts crumbled to 179, giving the visitors their fifth win on the trot on this tour.
Having already swept the T20Is 3-0, Australia will now eye another whitewash over the Caribbean women. Beth Mooney, who missed the first ODI due to injury, hit a steady 65, gluing together an Australia innings that was shaken to its core in the middle phase. Placed at 140/5 at one point, they crossed 250 thanks to contributions from Georgia Wareham (39) and Nicola Carey (30*), as well as a late flourish from Alana King (26*).
This is now Australia’s fourth consecutive bilateral ODI series win against West Indies. Overall, Australia have lost a solitary fixture out of 20 games against them.
