England’s batters couldn’t post a big total against arch-rivals Australia in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. The English team posted 244/9 in the allotted 50 overs, with the opening batter Tammy Beaumont scoring 78 runs off 105 deliveries, laced with 19 fours and 1 six in Indore.

Several other batters got starts, but the regular fall of wickets kept the overall total below the expected mark.

Amy Jones (18), Heather Knight (20), Nat Sciver-Brunt (7), Sophia Dunkley (22) and Emma Lamb (7) were guilty of gifting their wickets to the opposition.

In the death overs, Alice Capsey (38 off 32) and Charlie Dean (26 off 27) added some respectability to the score.

For Australia, Annabel Sutherland took three wickets and conceded 60 runs from her 10 overs. Sophie Molineux (2 wickets) and Ashleigh Gardner (2 wickets) were also impressive with the ball. Both England and Australia are the only undefeated teams in the tournament and have made it to the semi-finals.
