Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube has publicly stood by T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav, urging critics not to lose faith in him despite a challenging run of form. In the run-up to India’s fourth T20I against South Africa, Dube stressed that even great players go through lean patches but remain exceptional talents.

He remarked, “He’s the kind of player who can make you win five out of five matches on his own,” emphasizing that Suryakumar’s ability to influence games single-handedly has been proven over time and should not be undervalued just because runs haven’t come recently.

Dube said that a temporary slump in form doesn’t equate to a drop in overall quality, as the captain’s skills and match-winning potential are undoubted.
