Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir was caught on camera reacting animatedly as Hardik Pandya began his innings with a flat six in the fifth T20I against South Africa in Ahmedabad. The powerful shot struck a cameraman on the shoulder, prompting a visible response from Gambhir.

The incident took place in the 13th over, shortly after Pandya walked in following the dismissal of India captain Suryakumar Yadav, who was out for five off seven balls to Corbin Bosch. Pandya immediately showcased his intent, stepping out to the right-arm pacer and sending the ball soaring over long-off.

The cameraman took a hit to the shoulder, and the Indian team’s physiotherapist was seen attending to it with ice. You can watch the video here:

Hardik Pandya’s Quickfire 63 Powers India To 232 In Ahmedabad

Although Tilak Varma top-scored for Team India in the fifth T20I with 73, Hardik Pandya’s 63 was equally impactful as the hosts posted 232 for South Africa to chase in Ahmedabad. From the outset, Pandya attacked left-arm spinner George Linde with intent, taking him to the cleaners.

In Linde’s final over, the all-rounder struck two sixes and two fours, scoring 27 runs off six balls. Pandya reached his fifty in the 18th over by smashing Corbin Bosch for a six but was eventually dismissed by Ottneil Baartman in the 20th over, having shared a 105-run partnership with Tilak Varma.

Tilak, meanwhile, reached his half-century in 30 balls before being dismissed for 73. Earlier, openers Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson set the tone with a 63-run opening partnership in just 5.3 overs, helping India finish at 231/5 in their 20 overs.
